The annual Venture Prize competition is organised as a two stage process. Stage one is to complete the online application form which is structured as a simple business plan and explores the quality of the scientific innovation and the commercial potential of the project. No commercially sensitive information is required. Shortlisted applicants are then invited to give a presentation to the Venture Prize Committee in May. The winner is announced at the Armourers & Brasiers Cambridge Forum in June.
Following the suspension of the 2020 competition due to the Covid-19 Crisis, the Venture Prize Competition in 2021 will proceed as planned. However, presentations by shortlisted applicants are likely to take place online, as will the announcement of the winner at Armourers & Brasiers Cambridge Forum in June 2021.
The schedule for the 2021 Venture Prize Competition is as follows:
Sunday 21st March 2021 - Closing date for receipt of online applications
April - shortlisting by A&B Venture Prize Committee
Monday 10th May - interviews of shortlisted candidates (likely to be online, but may be in person if that is the Covid19 situation allows)
mid-June (date to be confirmed) - announcement of winner at Armourers & Brasiers Cambridge Forum (also likely to be online, but may be in person if that is the Covid19 situation allows)
