History of the Armourers Hall and Livery Company

The Armourers & Brasiers' Company started life in 1322 as the medieval Guild charged with overseeing standards in the production of arms and armour.  Over the centuries, its purpose has changed a number of times and it now exists primarily to promote materials science in the United Kingdom; to preserve its historic home, Armourers' Hall; and to promote fellowship amongst its members and all those who share its aspirations.
